چکیده

The stable model semantics has become a dominating approach for the management of negation in logic programming. It relies mainly on the closed world assumption to complete the available knowledge and its formulation has its founding root in the so-called Gelfond-Lifschitz transform. The primary goal of this work is to present an alternative and epistemic based characterization of the stable model semantics, to the Gelfond-Lifschitz transform. In particular, we show that the stable model semantics can be defined entirely as an extension of the Kripke-Kleene semantics and, thus, (i) does rely on the classical management of negation; and (ii) does not require any program transformation. Indeed, we show that the closed world assumption can be seen as an additional source for ‘falsehood’ to be added cumulatively to the Kripke-Kleene semantics. Our approach is purely algebraic and can abstract from the particular formalism of choice as it is based on monotone operators (under the knowledge order) over bilattices only.

Paracoherent Answer Set Programming

We study the problem of reasoning from incoherent answer set programs, i.e., from logic programs that do not have an answer set due to cyclic dependencies of an atom from its default negation. As a starting point we consider so-called semi-stable models which have been developed for this purpose building on a program transformation, called epistemic transformation. We give a model-theoretic cha...

Epistemic foundation of stable model semantics

Nested Epistemic Logic Programs

Nested logic programs and epistemic logic programs are two important extensions of answer set programming. However, the relationship between these two formalisms is rarely explored. In this paper we first introduce the epistemic HT-logic, and then propose a more general extension of logic programs called nested epistemic logic programs. The semantics of this extension named equilibrium views is...

A Succinct Language for Dynamic Epistemic Logic

Dynamic epistemic logic (DEL) is an extension of modal multi-agent epistemic logic with dynamic operators. We propose a succinct version of DEL where Kripke models and event models are described succinctly. Our proposal relies on Dynamic logic of propositional assignments (DLPA): epistemic relations are described with so-called accessibility programs written in DLPA. We give examples of models ...

Historical semantics attributes of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in the Holy Quran (Case Study Hanif words, certainly, Avah, Aime, model)

So how journey of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is a specific manifestation in the Qur'an. So far, research-lot about some of them have been completed. Surveys show that about Hanif etymology approach because it signified change, have been in vain. In certain cases, the root of it and in the case of the Islamic Ummah to the confluence of two words "my nation" and connect the two, based on the abstract m...
